A Long Weekend is most Welcome!

Hi everyone. I love when the Weekend lands, but I especially love when it’s a Long Weekend. Knowing that there is no work on Monday, makes that Friday feeling extra special. Today at 7PM in Ireland and the UK, or 2PM on the East Coast of America, I’ll Welcome you to the Weekend on the station where great music really does matter. I’ll have 2 hours of a fine selection of feel-good music, in a warm and friendly vibe. Together we can wipe away the week that was, and get set to enjoy the Weekend.

I’ve got lots of features including:
• Kick-Start-Track. It’s the track that sets the pace for the Weekend. We’ll begin with a tune released in 1995, that was used by a famous broadcaster as part of his jingle, to wake the British nation every morning.
• 1 at the Weekend. We’ll hear 3 well-known number 1 singles from 3 different decades, that were at the top on this Weekend in 2001, 1994 and 1980, but in which country?
• Singled out. In the days when music wasn’t available on demand, Was There a single you really wanted, and the only way you could get it was to save your pennies to buy it. I’ll play a Single I bought in 1981.
• The Friday Disco. In this segment of the show, we’ll relive those Disco Days from the 1970s and 80’s, when this genre of music was at its peak worldwide.
• Team Fm Top Tune. This must be a top-notch new release,. It has to be better than all the rest, to carry this honour for the next seven days. You’ll hear it for the first time on the station where great music matters today.
• Top of the Past. We’ve been doing the Team Fm Top Tune since the start of 2017. In this feature we’ll remember those top notch new releases that you heard right through the week, because they are so good.
