Paying Tribute to Rod Temperton in the Music Machine.

Hi everyone

After our novelty special of last week, I'm back with a regular show, the Music Machine, Saturday at 2 PM Eastern time, 7 PM UK.

In hour 1, anything goes, but I do have the usual features including:
The Vinyl Countdown, where I play a song straight from my record collection. This week we go back to 1967.
In Not Now, I'm Listening, we hear a song which surprisingly was not released as a single in the UK or Ireland. When you hear it, you'll think, "Are you sure about that?" I am.

You'll know him through his songs: not his ability to sing them, but by those he wrote and produced. Rod Temperton was an English songwriter, record producer, and musician from Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England. He initially made his mark as the keyboardist and main songwriter for the R&B funk/disco band Heatwave before writing several internationally known songs performed by Michael Jackson, including mega-hit "Thriller" as well as "Off the Wall", "Rock with You," and numerous others.

rod temperton recently passed away as a result of cancer. In hour 2 of the show, we'll celebrate his life and work through words and the music he wrote. Every song in the hour will have been written by a person you might describe as the invisible man, Rod Temperton.

So do join me tomorrow on Team-FM, where great music matters!
