The Music Machine says: "Tell Me a Story, Then I'll Go To Bed".

Not many people will recognise that song by Frankie Lane from 1953. But it partly sums up our Music Machine theme this week, although we don't want you to go to bed right after it because the Inside Track with Brian D is on. But do tune into the Music Machine on Saturday at 7 PM UK time, 2 PM US Eastern! www.team-fm.com.

Not all stories are in books, songs can tell stories too. Some of the best songs don't just soothe or energize, inform or persuade. They entertain by telling stories. We all turn to music for different purposes. But who among us doesn't appreciate a good tale, especially when there's irony or humor involved?
From Paper Lace with "Billy Don't Be a Hero" through to Taylor Swift and "Speak Now", many songs from different decades tell stories and I'm going to play some of the very best.

We do have Golden Years this week, taking 15 minutes from each hour to spend in a particular year. This week, its 1986 in hour 1 and 1976 in hour 2.
There's also the Vinyl Countdown, where I play a song from my record collection. This time, we take you to a Fantasy Island.

If you'd like to suggest a song, particularly one which tells a good story, do email brian@team-fm.com, tweet @TeamFMRadio or Facebook www.facebook.com/teamfmradio

That's the Music Machine this weekend, where there's likely to be a twist in the tale!
