What is Team-FM's New Machine Called? That's the Million Dollar Question.

Hi everyone

We're always looking for ways to improve the range of music we play, with some important qualities. The songs are hand-picked, meaning that we consider each track to be a fantastic song, and we are the station Where Great Music Matters. So we don't limit the music to three or four decades. The oldies are often classics, but good music is being released today as well!

We're giving the Gold Machine a rest for a little while. Instead, as of Monday, you'll find a new part of the Ten in One Team Machine for you to enjoy, the Million Machine.

As the name suggests, these are songs which have sold a million copies or more. But we've gone a little further than that. To compile the list of songs played in the Million Machine hours, we've used statistics published by the Official UK Charts Company, we've made use of our access to Billboard Magazine's extensive database of songs, together with other resources. This makes the Million Machine more interesting. You may hear a song and think, "Did that really sell a million copies?" It did, but maybe not in the UK. It would have sold a million in another country. So you'll hear songs from 1955 through to 2017, some of which you may not be expecting.

So, what can we tell you about million sellers?

Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" was the first song to sell over a million copies in the UK in 1942, but we've not included that one. Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" is the first official million selling single in the UK. "Candle in the Wind 1997" by Elton John is the fastest selling and biggest selling single in the UK.

Do check out the Schedule on our website for details of when you can hear the Million Machine, but in the UK, it airs starting Monday at 11 AM and 5 PM.

Do let us know what you think and, enjoy those million selling songs!
